I just sent this email to everyone I know whose email addresses I have:
Y’all,
This is the first time in years that I’ve emailed every email address I have in my address book. I suppose it would only be right to say hello before I get to my purpose for sending this email right now. So, Hello! π I do hope you’ll forgive the interruption. I have no intention of cluttering your inboxes with stuff on a regular basis. This is a rare interruption, and I do hope you’ll take it, as an important call to action.
Many of you know that I am supporting Dr. Ron Paul for President of the United States. It’s impossible, in one email, to convey all of the reasons why. You could say, βto know me is to know why I support Dr. Paul.β I believe he is by far the best candidate and I’ll be happy to share my reasons with any of you if you’re interested. More importantly, I encourage you to look for yourself (google Ron Paul).
I believe this coming Presidential election in particular is very important. It is the first truly ‘wide-open’ election since 1928 and comes at a time of significant challenge β war, record deficits, growing domestic tyranny, and substantial economic uncertainty for many Americans. Because of Dr. Paul’s presence, there is also an unprecedented opportunity for ordinary citizens to to take extraordinary and effective action.
I have the good fortune of being able to recommend an article for you to read, written by Lawrence Lepard, which outlines his reasons for supporting Dr. Paul. He is an ordinary citizen like you and I who spent his own money on an extraordinary action: he purchased a full page ad in USAToday urging support of Dr. Paul. His article is an excellent read and can be found here:

I hope it will overcome any apathy you may have, which is common to most Americans these days. While there is no guarantee of success in an effort like this, failure can be guaranteed by not trying. I echo the article’s two-part call to action:
1: This Sunday, December 16th (or any time, really), please joining me in making a donation to the Ron Paul for President campaign. Visit http://teaparty07.com for more information, and/or just go donate on the campaign website at http://
ronpaul2008.com. I’ll donate a little extra for those of you who can’t afford much, but a strong showing of support from as many people as possible will speak volumes. $5, $50, or $500 is okay, but $5000 is over the $2300 individual and $4600 married couple limit. If you want to donate that much, you’ll need to get clever π
2: Please joining me in voting for Ron Paul in the upcoming Republican Primary (dates vary by state), and encourage your neighbors and friends to do likewise. An email like this is a simple way of encouraging people you know to cast what may be the most important Presidential vote in their lifetime. In fact, if you just want to forward this one, feel free to do so. I’ll be happy to tell your friends why I like Ron Paul π
The most powerful, persuasive argument I hear (repeatedly) for not voting for Ron Paul is that he might not win. The truth is, if enough people vote for him, he will, indeed, win. You can be part of that victory. The question before each of you is, who do you want as the next President of the United States?
I’ve chosen Ron Paul. I hope you do, too.
Thank you for your kind attention. Have a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

P.S. If you’d like to see Dr. Paul in person, learn more about the Free State Project (another exciting and successful pro-liberty project), and catch the ‘buzz’ in the most exciting state for the most exciting primary in decades, you’re invited to attend the Free State Project’s New Hampshire Liberty Forum. It will be held January 4-6, 2008 in Nashua, New Hampshire. Details can be found at http://freestateproject.org/libertyforum.
P.P.S. If you want me to interrupt you more often than once every umpteen years with personal news, messages like this, philosophic ramblings, photos from around the world, and maybe other things, let me know (an email is great). I may have any number of solutions available that could increase your probably-already-painful awareness of me. π
P.P.P.S. Vote for Ron Paul and donate at http://ronpaul2008.com
