Last night I went to the New York City Ron Paul Meetup group’s Tea Party kickoff party. They met in a building on the lower west side and basically packed the place out. They had a projector showing Ron Paul videos up until midnight, and then a DJ spun tunes while the donation counter rolled. At midnight, the total was $11.55 Million and started surging immediately after midnight.
This morning I got up and watched the counter roll over $13.55 Million at about 11:15 a.m. In less than half a day, most of which was when people were sleeping, Paul raised more than $2 Million. That’s more than Mike Huckabee and Tom Tancredo raised in the 3rd Quarter put together! The current graph comparing December 16th with November 5th at Ron Paul Graphs shows the rate well exceeding the 5th of November rate, crossing the $2 Million mark more than 3 hours earlier in the day. The rate is now accelerating.
Paul’s rather ambitious goal for the 4th quarter was $12 Million. Nobody knows yet how much he’ll end today with, but it’ll surely be well over $15 million.
Meanwhile, in all of December, Mike Huckabee, who is touted by the media as a rising star has raised only half what Paul has raised… so far this morning. If Huckabee is truly popular, the money stats sure don’t show it. Money won’t win the election, but it is a significant influencing factor. And it’s obvious to me that his promotion as the rising star is solely to focus attention away from Ron Paul, who is the only true rising star in the race.
For those who want to see Paul in person, he’ll be speaking at the New Hampshire Liberty Forum, put on by the Free State Project, just two days before the New Hampshire primary. Last year, Paul's Speech wound up with over 1/4 Million views on Youtube. Who knows what could happen this time! Stick around and hold some signs on election day. It could be fun! 😉

What I can do
I’m so glad I was talking to you last night when you decided to go to the NYC event. It prompted me to check out what is going on around here and I had such a great time holding a sign of my own today. Along with meeting like minded people it was a lot of fun to see how much support Ron Paul has in the great state of Alaska.
Re: What I can do
Glad ya made the news 🙂 Pretty impressive day. The media appears to be totally oblivious to how significant the total amount raised and the number of donors really is, especially for a primary race with so many people still effectively in it. Every little bit helps 😉
