Jet lagged in Tel Aviv

I woke up in the middle of the night after only a few hours of sleep. Ahh the joys of jet lag. I did make it to Tel Aviv okay. About 10 of us on the crew wanted to do a holy land tour so we’re leaving at 8:00 a.m. (it’s almost 3 a.m. now) for a packed day, including Jerusalem and Bethlehem. I’ve wanted to do that kind of tour for, well, most of my life I suppose. Now, a fluky trip shows up and I get to work overtime (a pretty sweet deal, actually) for a free trip to Israel right before Christmas. Maybe there is a God? 😉 😉 😉

Things at work are weird. The retirement age was raised last week which is going to cause chaos from a training standpoint. I just got an email from someone else (junior to me) who was supposed to be with me in the January 23rd DC-10 Captain class. He was told he’s not going to be in that class, and that there will be some displacements. I didn’t receive such a notification, so I’m hoping that means I’m still in. I emailed management to ask. Updates as they become available…

Oh, yes, I also agree on the taking lots of pictures part. Only this time, download them sooner rather than later, please!!!
I hope you get what you are hoping for as far as the training goes!
