From art to tech… here we go!
I finally got around to upgrading my laptop to Mandrake 10. Gotta say, just a couple of glitches here and there, but over all I love it! The right alt key doesn’t work anymore (probably some mapping somewhere in a file I’m sure I could fix if I was motivated enough). I had to tinker with the PCMCIA configuration but not *nearly* as much as I did with 9.1. The touchpad, strangely, didn’t auto configure correctly (as it did with 9.1). My wife’s had 10 for a couple of weeks, and now that I’m digging into it, I’m loving the changes. KDE3.2 is great, Kontact rocks (I’ve put the RSS feed of this journal in my summary page and it even loads my picture… how vain!), OpenOffice 1.1 is a nice improvement, and I can finally load BibleTime correctly without it crashing. Fun fun fun…
Now that I’ve got that out of the way, I can actually do some real work. I have FSP phone calls to make, house phone calls to make, packing to do, some mixing and mastering (someone else’s project)… oh yeah, then there’s that pesky family!
But since it’s the middle of the night, maybe I’ll just try sleeping for a change…
