The end of the month as we know it

This job could sounds like the worst of jobs or the best of jobs. This month it’s been more like the best of jobs. As far as the job itself goes, it helped that I was sick for the first few days of the month. Three days of sick time got me down to 10 days of work for the month: two round trips from Dayton to Brussels. The trip was supposed to go another couple of days but they replaced us due to a potential legal problem with the way they scheduled the trip.

Now that’s still 10 days in a row away from home. Though much shorter than my record 28-day trip (yes, that’s in a row), it’s still 10 days in a row away from home. But I still can’t complain about being at the end of my month on the 14th.

And the 10 days I was gone were fairly enjoyable. 4 days in Brussels is hard to beat. Now I’d really rather not spend 4 days sitting someplace (assuming I’ve been there and seen what there is to see, of course), but if I have to, Brussels is as good a place as any.

So now, in an hour or so, I begin my journey home. I usually sleep some, work some (catching up on email and what not), think some. I get a lot of my best thinking (and some of my best writing) done on airplanes. And I have some of all of that to do today.

So away I go… another month down…

Anyone know why editing doesn’t work??? I tried to fix the typos in paragraph 1 and it said “success” but it doesn’t look too successful to me… 😉
