Today, I visited Mega Pon on Gottschedstrasse in Leipzig, Germany. One blogger thinks it is the second best laundromat in the world, having been dethroned by the ever popular Brain Wash in San Francisco. Brain Wash is apparently so good, it won a Yahoo award for world’s best cybercafe’s.
Mega Pon was definitely cool… more cafe than laundromat and not cyber as far as I can tell. But I was able to do a load of laundry there as I ate a really yummy (and large) Irish breakfast and drank maybe the single largest cup of coffee I’ve ever had in my life. It came in a bowl, no handles, with three M&M’s on the side. Nice touch. It opens at 2 on weekdays and 10 on weekends, but I was the only customer in there when I arrived (around 11ish) for quite a while. Then people started showing up for late lunch. Was definitely a better way to do laundry than most places, but now that I’ve read about Brain Wash, I’m wishing I was washing in San Fran. 😉

That *does* sound fun. I might enjoy laundry more (or might actually *do* laundry more) in that type of setting. haha! Did you take a pic of that coffee?
