Went to The Varsity today for lunch. It’s an institution that’s been on my to-go-to list. Tried a burger and a chili dog. Next time, I’ll stick to the chili dog. Was worth the visit.
Going backwards in time, I visited Blind Willies last night. They’re a blues bar but they do have jazz from time to time. Last night was Scott Glazer’s Mojo Dojo. They’re a jazz quintet and they sounded great. The trumpet player was particularly impressive, but the whole band was definitely worth hearing. And the venue was kinda cool, too. It’s definitely on my to-go-back-to list, and if I find that band playing again, I’m all for hearing more…
